WhatsApp Business API for commercial proposal send
The scenario sends the prospect a personalised WhatsApp template when a commercial proposal is ready.
Use case overview
The scenario sends the prospect a personalised WhatsApp template when a commercial proposal is ready. The message includes the prospect name, the product or service offered, and a short note about the proposal. A static URL button opens the online proposal document.
Template example
Hello, {{1}}! We are sending you a commercial proposal for "{{2}}". {{3}} Open the document using the button below — we are here if you have questions.
- {{1}}prospect or customer name
- {{2}}product or service covered by the proposal
- {{3}}short proposal note (e.g. valid until 30 June, includes implementation timeline)
- “Open proposal”button — fixed in the Meta template

When to use it
Reach for this scenario when a commercial proposal is ready but email or a CRM link alone is not getting it opened — the prospect has no active WhatsApp thread, so only an approved template can carry the first outbound. It fits B2B sales teams delivering quotes right after generation, agencies triggering WhatsApp when a PDF or web proposal is published in CRM, and service businesses sending pricing packages to qualified leads.
Workflow
- Trigger
CRM or the proposal system emits a proposal-ready event.
event·triggered - Capture event
The system resolves the prospect phone number and proposal fields.
phone:"+…" - Build & send
A personalised template message is built with three body variables and a static URL button.
POST/sendTemplate - Delivered
The prospect receives the WhatsApp message with the proposal link.
delivered - Status tracked
Delivery result is logged in CRM; sales can follow up based on engagement.

Response and delivery status
HTTP 2xx and JSON "sent": true mean 1MSG accepted the message for sending — not that it already reached the customer's phone. Save the id field (looks like wamid.…) to correlate delivery callbacks.
{
"sent": true,
"id": "wamid.HBgLMzgwNjM5...",
"message": "Message accepted for delivery"
}sentAccepted for sending — not yet on the customer's phone
idStore it; delivery callbacks and
hookInfoare keyed on this
Delivery itself arrives later, as a separate callback. Register a webhook (POST …/webhook) and 1MSG POSTs status updates to your HTTPS endpoint in a top-level hooks[] payload.

}
]
}statussent,delivered,read— or a failure status when applicableidCorrelates the callback with the
idreturned by the send calltimestampUnix seconds, as a string
If you would rather not receive callbacks, poll GET {base}/{channel}/hookInfo?messageId=<id> instead. In practice delivery often completes within seconds — but the API contract does not guarantee it, so never block a flow waiting on it.
