Delivery confirmation to B2B partners (API)

The scenario sends a partner or distributor contact a personalized WhatsApp template when an order is delivered to their location.

Use case overview

The scenario sends a partner or distributor contact a personalized WhatsApp template when an order is delivered to their location. The message includes the partner company name, order number, product name, and delivery receipt note. A static URL button opens order or transfer details.

Template example

Hello, {{1}}! Order #{{2}} for "{{3}}" has been delivered to your partner pickup point. {{4}}.

Handoff details
  • {{1}}
    partner or distributor company name
  • {{2}}
    order number
  • {{3}}
    product name
  • {{4}}
    delivery receipt note (time, location, or next step)
  • “Handoff details”

When to use it

Reach for this scenario when a shipment is recorded at a distributor or partner pickup point and the responsible contact still learns about it late through email or a portal refresh. It fits B2B distribution hubs, franchise and partner networks with multiple pickup locations, and integrators wiring TMS proof-of-delivery webhooks into WhatsApp outbound.

Faster inventory reconciliation at partner hubs
Four body variables carry the partner company name, order number, product name and delivery receipt note to the partner contact's phone (MANAGER_PHONE), so they can reconcile stock immediately instead of waiting for email or a portal update.
Fewer missed arrivals at pickup points
The template fires when logistics marks delivery to the partner location, so the responsible contact gets WhatsApp the moment the shipment is recorded rather than on the next portal check.
No manual partner notifications
TMS or OMS emits the partner-delivery event and the system resolves the partner phone and shipment fields, so no one retypes order details or calls the distributor to confirm arrival.
One tap to order or transfer details
A static URL button fixed in the Meta template opens handoff details while only the four body variables are sent via the API, so the partner can verify the shipment without calling support.

Workflow

  1. Trigger

    Logistics marks delivery to the partner location and fires an event.

    event · triggered

  2. Capture event

    The system resolves the partner contact phone and shipment fields.

    phone: "+…"

  3. Build & send

    A personalized template message is built with four body variables and a static URL button.

    POST /sendTemplate

  4. Delivered

    The partner contact receives the WhatsApp confirmation and can open details via the button.

    delivered

  5. Status tracked

    Delivery result is logged; errors are handled according to platform rules.

    status: "read"

Response and delivery status

HTTP 2xx and JSON "sent": true mean 1MSG accepted the message for sending — not that it already reached the customer's phone. Save the id field (looks like wamid.…) to correlate delivery callbacks.

200 OKResponse
{
  "sent": true,
  "message": "Sent to [email protected]",
  "description": "Message has been sent to the provider",
  "id": "wamid.HBgLMzgwNjM5..."
}
  • sent

    Accepted for sending — not yet on the customer's phone

  • id

    Store it; delivery callbacks and hookInfo are keyed on this
