WhatsApp Business API for account reactivation notification
The scenario sends the account holder a personalised WhatsApp template when an account review or recheck is completed and access is restored.
Use case overview
The scenario sends the account holder a personalised WhatsApp template when an account review or recheck is completed and access is restored. The message includes the customer name, account or process context, and the reactivation status label. A static URL button opens the account or customer portal.
Template example
Hello, {{1}}! Your {{2}} has been reactivated after review: {{3}}. You can now access all account features. If you have questions — we are here to help.
- {{1}}customer name
- {{2}}account or process context (e.g. merchant account, partner profile, business wallet)
- {{3}}reactivation status label (e.g. Account reactivated, Access restored, Review complete)
- “Open account”button — fixed in the Meta template

When to use it
Reach for this scenario when an account review or compliance recheck finishes and access is restored — and the account holder still has no open WhatsApp chat, so only an approved template can confirm reactivation proactively. It fits fintech and marketplaces reactivating merchants after KYC review, B2B SaaS teams notifying admins that a scheduled account review passed, and integrators wiring review-completion webhooks from CRM, risk engines, or onboarding platforms to WhatsApp outbound.
Workflow
- Trigger
Compliance or account management completes an account review or recheck.
event·triggered - Office
The back office, risk engine, or integration marks the account as reactivated.
POST/sendTemplate - Capture event
The system resolves the account holder phone number and reactivation fields.
phone:"+…" - Build & send
A personalised template message is built with three body variables and a static URL button.
POST/sendTemplate - Delivered
The account holder receives the WhatsApp notification that the account is active again.
delivered - Status tracked
Delivery result is logged for compliance or CRM follow-up.

Response and delivery status
HTTP 2xx and JSON "sent": true mean 1MSG accepted the message for sending — not that it already reached the customer's phone. Save the id field (looks like wamid.…) to correlate delivery callbacks.
{
"sent": true,
"id": "wamid.HBgLMzgwNjM5...",
"message": "Message accepted for delivery"
}sentAccepted for sending — not yet on the customer's phone
idStore it; delivery callbacks and
hookInfoare keyed on this
Delivery itself arrives later, as a separate callback. Register a webhook (POST …/webhook) and 1MSG POSTs status updates to your HTTPS endpoint in a top-level hooks[] payload.

}statussent,delivered,read— or a failure status when applicableidCorrelates the callback with the
idreturned by the send calltimestampUnix seconds, as a string
If you would rather not receive callbacks, poll GET {base}/{channel}/hookInfo?messageId=<id> instead. In practice delivery often completes within seconds — but the API contract does not guarantee it, so never block a flow waiting on it.
